Abstract


This study aimed to analyze the factors that affect student of Faculty of Economics and Accounting in the selection of the profession as a Public Accountant. The factors that influence the selection of the profession is measured using a variable financial rewards, professional recognition, professional training, social values, pride, consideration of the labor market, the intrinsic value of work, personality.The sample used in this study were students in the city of Semarang and Economic Accounting for representing retrieval sempel taken from Diponegoro University Students and the State University of Semarang as many as 329 respondents. To analyze this study using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 20. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires directly to the respondent. The results of this analysis indicate that Parsia, variable financial rewards, professional training, professional recognition, social values, consideration of the labor market, the intrinsic value of work, positive influence on the student's interest in the selection of the accounting profession as a public accountant. The findings also show that personality factors are less influential on accounting students in the choice of profession as a public accountant.
