EFFECT OF INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS AND WORK SPECIALIZATION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF CIVIL SERVANTS AND IMPLICATIONS IN PUBLIC SATISFACTION AT KELURAHAN WONOTINGAL KECAMATAN CANDISARI SEMARANG

Abstract


Kelurahan Wonotingal Kecamatan Candisari Semarang experiencing problems, where the performance of Civil Servants who work in the villages, amounting to 8 people is still low, so it has not been able to provide public services that can satisfy the public. Allegedly it was caused by a lack of individual characteristics and lack of specialization that is given by the agency to its employees. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the agencies attempt improve the performance of Civil Servants in Kelurahan Wonotingal Kecamatan Candisari Semarang, making a positive impact on the increase community satisfaction with the public services provided by the Civil Servants working in the ranks of the urban village.

The population in this study is that people who receive public services from the Civil Service in Kelurahan Wonotingal Kecamatan Candisari Semarang from the date of January 1, 2015 until December 1, 2015, amounting to 7,061 people and the sampling technique used was simple random sampling method, where by using the formula Slovin obtained a sample of 99 respondents. Analysis of the data used in this research is multiple linear regression method and a phase 2 test of goodness of fit, either partially or simultaneously.

Results of hypothesis testing showed t value variable individual characteristics and labor specialization respectively are 3.831 and 8.353 > t table 1.660715, the research hypothesis which states that the individual characteristics and labor specialization partially positive and significant effect on the performance is acceptable. F count is 55.609 > F table 2.358707, then the hypothesis that individual characteristics and specializations work simultaneously positive and significant impact on the performance is acceptable. t value of unstandardized predicted performance value of 9.154> t table 1.660715, then the hypothesis that the performance of positive and significant impact on people's satisfaction is acceptable.
