EFFECT OF WORKLOAD AND WORK CONFLICT ON AFFECTIVE COMMITMENT AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON EMPLOYEE WORK PRODUCTIVITY PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT PT. BINTANG KEJORA SEMARANG

Abstract


PT. Bintang Kejora Semarang has a problem, where the affective commitment of
employees in the production department is still low, so that it has an impact on the low
work productivity of the employees. The purpose of this research is to determine the
impact of workload and work conflict partially and simultaneously on employee
affective commitment, the impact of workload and affective commitment on employee
productivity partially and to determine whether affective commitment mediates the
impact of workload and work conflict partially on work productivity.
The population in this research were all production employees at PT. Bintang
Kejora Semarang, numbering 100 people. The number of samples taken in this research
was determined through the census method, by taking the entire sample from the total
population of employees working in the production department of PT. Bintang Kejora
Semarang. The data analysis technique used is Path Analysis.
The results of the analysis show that workload partially has a positive and
significant impact on affective commitment, work conflict partially has a negative and
significant impact on affective commitment, workload and work conflict simultaneously
have a negative and significant impact on affective commitment. Besides that, effective
commitment mediates the impact of workload on work productivity, but does not
mediate the impact of work conflict on work productivity.
