Abstract


This research aims to determine the influence of work discipline and supervision on the
performance of employees who work as coordinators of the Trade Service at the
Jatingaleh Market in Semarang, both directly and indirectly through organizational
commitment as an intervening variable. The population used was all employees who
worked as coordinators of the Trade Service at the Jatingaleh Market in Semarang,
both State Civil Apparatus and Non-State Civil Apparatus with a total of 53 employees,
the sampling technique used the census method, so the number of samples used was 53
respondents. The data source used was primary data, with a questionnaire data
collection method. The analysis technique used is path analysis. The research results
show that work discipline and supervision each have a positive and significant effect on
organizational commitment. Work discipline, supervision, and organizational
commitment each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The
results of the mediation test show that organizational commitment can mediate the
influence of work discipline on employee performance. Organizational commitment can
mediate the effect of supervision on employee performance.
